They let me out of the hospital on Saturday and I did OK on Sunday. I feel better after being rehydrated and I'm able to eat/drink again. still have pain but can deal with it with Percocet. Still have nausea but manageable to a pretty good extent.
Yesterday I saw Dr. Martin Hightower, a radiation oncologist at Grand View hospital, and he is going to treat the ribs for sure and possibly my skull with radiation. This is for pain management. He also put me on steroids to see if that helps the nausea.
I see him again today at 10:30AM and they are going to tattoo me (very small to locate the equipment in the same place every time). I start next Monday and will have 10 sessions M-F for two weeks. If they do only the ribs it should only take 15 minutes each time.
Of all the "traditional" doctors I've seen Dr. Hightower is one the most "aware" of CAM (Complimentary and Alternative Medicine). He is even somewhat familiar with Dr. Chang who by the way I see tomorrow at 12:00PM in NYC and has been guiding my treatment since the very beginning of my diagnosis.
I suspect that my next step will be a trip to Germany early next year for Dendritic Cell Therapy. Traditional chemo (3 different regimens) have not worked for me so I'm going the "CAM" route.
