The “cat” scan last week showed the cancer is progression somewhat. So, in consultation with my doctors I’m going to start a different type of chemo know as CAV(three drugs given in a cocktail with much nastier side effects including potential heart damage and the possibility of giving me bladder cancer at some point) tomorrow morning at Penn. For the last 11 weeks I was on an oral chemo called Tarceva with minimal side effects. I’ll have this treatment again in three weeks and then in 5 weeks from tomorrow or so I’ll have another CT scan to see if it’s working. I’m also going to begin Copper Chelatingtherapy ASAP.
If the CAV works we’ll do a maximum of 8 cycles (every three weeks). If the CAV is not working we’re going to consider Radiation therapy followed by Dendritic Cell Therapyin Germany, coordinated by Dr. Changwho I saw yesterday and who has been coordinating my care pretty much since the beginning.
